What the checklist covers
The checklist has 20 items in four groups: Core Web Vitals (four items), caching and server (five), images and media (four), and code and plugins (seven). It is written for WordPress sites, and items such as the PHP version, unused plugins and the Heartbeat setting are specific to WordPress, but most of the list fits any site.
Tick an item when your site meets it. The ring shows how many of the 20 are done, and the percentage. Every item weighs the same, so the score measures coverage, not speed: a site can tick 18 items and still be slow because of one of the two that are left. Several items have a numeric target: LCP under 2.5 seconds on mobile, CLS below 0.1, INP under 200 ms and a server response time (TTFB) under 600 ms.
Your ticks are saved in this browser only, so you can come back to the list on the same device, and they are not sent anywhere. The checklist can also be downloaded as a PDF. Start with the Core Web Vitals group to see where you stand, and continue from there in order.
Questions about this tool
How do I find the numbers the checklist asks about?
Google's PageSpeed Insights reports LCP, CLS and INP for any public page. The server response time appears in the same report and in your browser's developer tools. The PHP version is shown on the WordPress Site Health screen or in your hosting panel.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in the browser you are using. The ticks are stored on your device and stay there until you clear the site's data. They do not follow you to another device and are not sent to a server.
Does a full score mean my site is fast?
Not necessarily. The score counts how many of the 20 practices are in place. The first three items — LCP, CLS and INP — are the measured results, and they are the ones to trust when the score and the experience disagree.
